Ferrovista

Privacy policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

This policy explains what data Ferrovista collects, what we use it for and how you can manage it. Our aim is to collect as little data as possible.

What we collect

If you create an account, we store your name, your email address and an encrypted version of your password. If you save vehicles to your log, we associate those vehicles' data with your account. We also anonymously measure which pages are visited, to know how many people use the site: we use no tracking cookies and never store your IP address. To count unique visitors we derive a one-way code from your IP and browser mixed with the current date, so it changes every day and cannot be used to follow you. The transit data shown on the map is public and cannot identify you.

How we use it

We use this data solely to provide the service: keeping you signed in, saving your vehicles and sending you verification or password-reset emails. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.

Cookies

We use a single technical cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies: visit statistics are measured without cookies.

Third-party services

We use Resend to send emails. Maps are rendered with tiles from CARTO and OpenStreetMap. These services may process technical data, such as your IP address, in order to function.

Retention and your rights

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Detailed visit data is kept for 30 days; after that only daily totals remain, which contain no personal data. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or to delete your account, by contacting us. Deleting your account also removes the vehicles you have saved.
