Ferrovista

About Ferrovista

Ferrovista is more than just a map on a website. It aims to be a complete, interconnected platform for everything to do with Catalan public transit. Watch, build and share with real-time data.

How it works

Central API

A custom API constantly queries the different transit operators and unifies their static data (lines, stops, schedules) and real-time data (positions, delays) into a single standard format for other services to use.

The ferrovista.cat website

Where you are right now, ferrovista.cat is the fastest way to check the data the platform aggregates. Here you'll also find information about the rest of Ferrovista's products and services.

Boards

A treat for the biggest transit fans: LED boards that show the network in real time, with each vehicle's position, and that make a lovely scale-model piece. Hand-made and with a lot of love, for enthusiasts :).

Who's behind Ferrovista?

Hey! First of all, thanks for exploring the website enough to find this. Ferrovista started in the summer of 2025 as the FGC display panel you may have seen around here. Later on, curious to see how far I could take the project, I decided to build a program that would bring together as much public transport data as possible. I loved the idea of being able to see everything that keeps us moving every day, even the things we don't usually notice. As the project evolved, the idea of the map came naturally: what better way to showcase everything I had collected than through a website that felt alive? That's how Ferrovista grew beyond an LED display and became a project that aims to be a useful tool for anyone who wants to see public transport from a new perspective and, hopefully, make their daily life a little easier. I hope you enjoy it <3
